EXPERIENCE ONE NIGHT IN THE WILD

Experience a night in the rainforest and feel the jungle vibes with this 2 days trek! After an amazing first trekking day full of discoveries, relax on our campsite near the river or the waterfall. Refresh yourself and take a swim before having a homemade dinner. Then enjoy a entertaining evening chatting and playing games with your guides around a bonfire. Fall asleep with jungle sounds. The next morning, enjoy a yummy breakfast and go deeper in the jungle to see more wildlife before going back to Bukit Lawang by tubing!

*You need to be 2 people to do this trek, if less it's still possible for extra fees (+1,450,000 IDR / +90€ / +105$ per booking). Possibility to book it as a private trek if you're 4 people or by paying the fare of 4 people. Be aware that some of our other guests might join your group if you do a normal booking (max 6)

TREK ITINERARY

Day 1

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your guesthouse around 9:00 am.

You will walk down the river, then go uphill and cross rubber plantations in the way to the entrance of the Gunung Leuser National Park.

Once you have entered the jungle, you should have some chance to spot semi-wild Sumatran Orangutans if you're lucky. Indeed, some of them are really used to see humans as these short treks are really famous. You will have time to observe them swinging in the trees and taking care of their babies! You will remember this amazing scenery forever.

Afterwards, you will keep trekking through the rainforest and stop for a yummy snack of tropical fruits. Then you will hike up again and walk for about one more hour and enjoy unforgettable viewpoints overlooking the whole valley of the Bohorok River and the Gunung Leuser National Park on the background.

After a jungle lunch, continue your trek through the jungle to your overnight campsite and keep discovering other amazing wildlife such as Long Tail Macaques, Pig Tail Macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys and Monitor Lizard!

Around 4:00 pm you will arrive at your campsite near a waterfall or at the riverside. It's time for you to chill out & enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Take a swim to refresh yourself while your guides will prepare the camp and cook your dinner made of curry, rice, and other yummy local food. After dinner you can relax, chat or play cards games with your guides around a bonfire.

Enjoy a goodnight of sleep under your jungle tent, protected by a large bamboo frame covered with a plastic sheet, and fall asleep with the sounds of the jungle!

Day 2

Wake up the next morning after this amazing overnight experience and enjoy the homemade breakfast in the middle of the rainforest.

After breakfast, keep trekking for 4 or 5 more hours and look for other rare wildlife such as jungle Turtles, White-Handed Gibbon or the Great Argus bird.

After your last lunch in the jungle, end your trek with a refreshing and fun experience : the "jungle taxi" will bring you back to Bukit Lawang by a traditional tubing ride along the Bohorok River ! Then, your guide will bring you back to your guesthouse around 2:00 or 4:00 pm.
